Silver Snail Jasmine Green Tea, delicate scenting of high grade green tea buds with the scent of jasmine flowers creates unique and unrepeatable composition of this tea. Tea leaves are harvested in the early spring and stored until late summer when jasmine flowers start to bloom. Jasmine flowers are picked in the late afternoon when fresh petals are still closed. The flowers are kept cool until the early evening, when the flowers begin to open. Then tea buds are blended with jasmine flowers and stored overnight. During the night jasmine flowers open, bloom and give away their fragrance into the tea. It takes over four hours for the tea to absorb the fragrance and flavor from jasmine flowers. This scenting process is repeated up to six times. The result is a very smooth, flavorful green tea with a gentle hint of jasmine, refreshing and energizing.
“Drinking tea for a long time makes one thin”, — says ancient Chinese medicinal classic Bencao Shiyi. It was said 1,300 years ago, but that is exactly what scientists have found today.
Recent scientific studies have discovered that the main ingredients responsible for green tea slimming effects are caffeine and EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate). Drinking quality green tea can increase
metabolism, burn fat, block conversion of energy into fat, regulate blood sugar levels and reduce food cravings.
Water should be at least 176F. Water of higher temperature can cause bitterness. Add approx. 1 tea spoon tea leaves per teapot (3 to 5 cups of tea). Infuse tea during about 1-5 minutes. The polyphenol content of the tea will increase with longer infusion time, but more than 5 minutes make tea bitter. Optionally strain the tea, pour into warmed teacups and enjoy!
